The importance of water lies in the fact that it is essential for plant and animal life and is a limited natural resource. 70% of the Earth’s surface is covered by water, yet it is estimated that only 0.5% is usable and available.\u00a0 We must take care of our rivers, lakes and oceans by adopting sustainable practices to preserve this natural treasure for generations to come.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our decisions today will impact our immediate future and together we can achieve sustainable and equitable management for all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are 5 tips to put into practice in your day-to-day life and support water care: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today the invitation is to unite around the care of water, we have a great challenge in common, where every drop counts, with small habits and a collective commitment, we can make a big difference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Turn off the faucet when washing utensils or brushing your teeth<\/strong>: Turning off the faucet while brushing your teeth (or even using a glass for it), while soaping up in the shower or while washing dishes can help save thousands of litres of water. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    1. Use the washing machine and dishwasher only when they are completely full<\/strong>. Running the washing machine when it’s full can save you 2,500 to 2,800 litres each month. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      1. Repair leaks in your home:<\/strong> This is one of the most effective measures, as a simple leak can waste a significant amount of water over time. It’s important to regularly check faucets, toilets, and pipes. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
          \n
        1. Avoid the use of polluting chemicals:<\/strong> Choose biodegradable detergents and reduce the use of pesticides and fertilizers. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          1. Maintain good practices of saving and caring for water when you are away from home.<\/strong> Studies show that we do not value water in the same way when we are away from home and the same saving measures are not applied. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
