Expansion of the mill is one of the most outstanding topics in innovation, this being the most modern in the country, focused on the production of high-strength lightweight papers with efficient resource management.
Our equipment comes with the necessary engineering controls to protect health and physical integrity of the people who operate them.
It is expected that with these technologies we can increase the machines operation speed up to 700m / min for a productivity of 350ton / day which increases the annual production capacity from 87,000 tons / year to 117,000 tons / year; it has heat recovery towers using air out into the atmosphere, and they enter it back into the process making efficient use of steam.
The Company is committed to the use of natural gas for own electric power generation.
Electricity is one of the most demanding resources in the plant, which is why the installation of a 6.4 MW turbine was carried out, which in addition to generating energy, uses the combustion gases to produce the steam that is used in the paper drying process and at the same time, decreasing carbon consumption. With this investment we sought to improve the environmental sustainability that characterizes us and the competitiveness of the company.
The corrugating machine of the Barbosa plant was intervened to add a type of corrugation that allows the development of new corrugated waves. It is expected to have greater agility and competitiveness with the installation of the new headstock, to serve the agricultural export market with B / E wave, thus achieving better specialized packaging for the agro-industrial sector. In addition to this equipment, the old Cut-off was also renewed, which is focused on a more efficient and sustainable operation.
