Papelsa has worked hard to bean environmental friendly company, and as a result of this work, theMetropolitan Area awarded it in 2018 the Corporate Sustainability Recognitionin the Leader category for achieving one of the highest scores in this award.The achievements obtained in its main indicators are recognized as proof ofthis continuous work towards the environment. In the period between 2007 and 2018, Papelsa increased its production by more than 130%, which involved agreat effort to promote recycling in order to increase, in the same proportion,the recycled cardboard collection in the department. Despite this increase inproduction, its absolute surface water consumption decreased by 43% in the sameperiod; its specific electric energy consumption decreased by 27% and its specificcarbon footprint decreased by 2.7% between 2011 and 2018.
